Common Q's

What's crochet?

The word "crochet" itself comes from the French word "croche," meaning hook. Beyond its technical definition, it is a flexible art with many possibilities for creativity. Crochet provides a distinct experience that distinguishes it from other crafts, whether you're making blankets, clothing, accessories, or home items. But most importantly, it's enjoyed by people of all ages and skill levels around the world.

Is crochet the same as knitting?

Crocheting is frequently confused with knitting. They are both crafts that involve creating fabric with yarn, but they differ in their techniques and tools. Crochet involves using a single hook while knitting uses two pointed needles. Crochet is often considered easier for beginners to pick up due to its simplicity. Whether someone chooses crochet or knitting often depends on personal preference, the desired outcome, and the aesthetics they enjoy!

How did you learn?

I started on my crochet journey by watching "how to" YouTube videos along with helpful tips from the TikTok crochet community. The learning process demanded hours and hours of patience and persistence. I'll admit, it was challenging, and there were times when I found myself wanting to give up. However, the allure of creating wearable art outweighed that inner voice of doubt, and I knew it would be worth it!

How to Wash
Crochet Items

an in-depth video tutorial

Handwashing crochet items is essential for maintaining the quality of your purchase. Unlike machine washing, handwashing preserves the fibers and stitches. It prevents stretching, color fading, and pilling, and ensures that your handmade items retain their original beauty. By taking the time to carefully hand wash, you can enjoy your crochet items for years to come.
